Obituary published in the "Singleton Argus" of Friday 4 November 1938:
"DEATH OF MR. F. A. FAULKNER. An old and highly respected resident of Singleton, in the person of Mr. Frederick Ambrose Faulkner, died this morning at his residence, 6 George-street. The deceased, who was 74 years of age, was born at Myall Creek, on 13th December, 1863. He was in his usual health on Tuesday, and in the evening lis tened to a programme on the wire less, but about 10 p.m. he was attacked by a seizure in the head, and remained in an unconscious state until his death. Deceased lived in Sin gleton district all his life, being a resident of George-street for the past 34 years. At one time he was em ployed by the Postmaster-General as a linesman, and was one of the lines men who put the telephone line from Singleton to Maeranie. He was a man of genial temperament and many friends of a lifetime will regret his departure and extend deep sympathy to the bereaved wife and family. There are four daughters and one son, viz., Mesdames G. Conway (Quirindi), H. Sevenoaks (Singleton), J. Wild (Jerry's Plains), P. Thomas (Singleton), and Mr. Vic Faulkner (Newcastle). The funeral will leave his late residence at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow (Saturday) for the Catholic cemetery."
