Burlington Gazette - Burlington, Iowa - Saturday, June 18 1927:
Fremont S. McPherson, a well known resident of Jefferson county, passed away Friday morning at 2:30 o'clock at the Jefferson County hospital after an illness of several days. The funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Richland and the interment will take place in the Richland cemetery. The funeral party will leave the Hodkins funeral home at 1 o'clock Sunday for Richland.
Mr. McPherson was 71 years of age and is survived by his wife and four sons, and daughters. They are Thomas and Leroy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Willard of Cedar Sprints; Floyd of Goodland, Kas.; Mrs. N.J. Calhoun of near Fairfield; Mabel of Veo. C.E. McPherson of Fairfield is the only surviving brother.

Fremont S. McPherson passed away at the Jefferson county hospital, Friday, after a lingering illness. Mr. McPherson was born August 6, 1856. He is survived by his widow and the following children: LeRoy and Thomas, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Floyd McPherson, of Gooden, Kan.; Mabel McPherson, Veo, la.; Velma McPherson, Burlington, la.; Williard, of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Newton J. Calhoun, of this city. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church at Richland, with interment in Richland cemetery. The funeral party will leave Hoskins' funeral home at 1 o'clock.
