Genevieve E. Mackey, 102, of Washington, WV, passed away October 15, 2016 at Care Haven of Pleasants. She had resided at the home of her niece for the past five months.

She was born in Ritchie County, WV on August 15, 1914, daughter of the late Morello and Mellie Leep Jackson.

Genevieve began working at American Viscose at the age of sixteen and worked there for forty-one years, later working as an aid at the former Camden Clark Hospital. She was a faithful member of Fairlawn Baptist Church.

Surviving Genevieve are her nieces and nephews Sandy Haynes (Mike), Mike Jackson (Marie), Steve Jackson (Donna), Lois Townsend (Steve), Tina Copenhaver (Mike), Donald Jackson (Karen), Helen Carr, Linda Day Lowther, Shirley Robinson, Lois Robinson (Roger), Gene Mackey (Brenda) and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband John F. Mackey who passed away in 1970 and her siblings, Donald Jackson (Bonnie), Ronald Jackson (Lois), Mary Gorrell (Bill), Bernard Jackson, Evelyn and one nephew Mark Jackson.

The funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen North Cemetery.
