Edith is shown on the The National Archives of the UK, in the UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960. Both Geoffrey and Edith arrived in Southampton, England, on the Athalone Castle ship on the 21 May 1954.

[From Richard Ashby 4 March 2020] "Geoffrey married (1) Anabel ("Peggy") Marsh Fenwick (born Greenough) an American divorcee on 26 Mar 1934 at Capetown who died approx 1953. Geoffrey then married a widow (2) Edith Leslie Henderson (born Deucher in Tyneside England in 1904) After Geoffrey's death on 22 Mar 1957, Edith married Patrick Ainsley Friend.. Edith's first marriage was to Thomas Henderson in 1922 in London and they had a son Ian Thomas Henderson. The S African death notice for Edith Leslie Friend (formerly Henderson formerly Joel) who died aged 55 years and 5 months at 1 Bristol Road Parkend Joburg on 3 Sep 1959 is particularly helpful. Geoffrey died at same address."
