GEORGE ABBOTT (George 1)

b.c. 1669 Norwalk, CT and died 1731 Norwalk, CT (per will in Hartford) married to Hannah Hayes.

He was a fence viewer in Norwalk in 1694, also in 1700 ,and probably held other local offices. He was a farmer. His will is dated 8 Jan. 1730/1 and signed with his mark. The inventory is taken and dated 1 Sept. 1731. The following children are named in his will with the exception of Daniel who probably died young. Children:

1. George probably married Anne Willey 24 Aug. 1737. He may have removed to Georgetown which was named for him, or his son.
2. + EBENEZER
3. Jemima m. 15 May 1759 Abiel Bean of North Stratford, CT.
4. Benjamin removed to Woodbury, CT and married Naomi Adkins.
5. Samuel lived in Wilton, CT where he joined the church in 1733.
6. Hannah m. William Pearsons or Parsons.
7. Rebeeca prob. married John Taylor 7 May 1746. She joined the church in Wilton 16 Apr. 1733.
8. Israel m. Elizabeth Tuttle of New Haven 1746, removed to Middletown, CT where he had 3 daughters.
9. Elizabeth m. ---- Beers.
10. Dorcas m. 22 June 1739 Benjamin Dibble of Stamford, CT.
11. Daniel who probably died young.
