About George Fleming
At age 18 he met his future wife (my mom) Daisy Lorene Carroll in a neighborhood ice cream shop in 1942. At 19 he joined the US Navy and was stationed at Port Chicago, CA.
On December 7, 1944 his ship (USS Mahan DD364) was sunk by 3 Japanese Kamikaze attacks; 6 sailors died.
On March 22, 1945, George and Daisy were married on Treasure Island, CA. When his time in the Navy was satisfied they returned to Nashville. He spent over 30 years at the Ford Glass Plant and they raised 3 children.
He was a good husband, father and provider. He is missed, everyday.
