George Havens, son of William and Dionis Havens, was born in 1653 in the colony of Rhode Island, New England. He married Eleanor Thurston, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Mott) Thurston in 1674. He died on Feb. 21, 1706 at his farm on Shelter Island, now part of Suffolk County, New York. He was buried at the Old Cemetery, New London, Connecticut Colony, New England.
- George and Eleanor (Thurston) Havens had the following eight children:[1]
- George, married Mary
- Jonathan, born Feb. 22, 1681; married Hannah Brown, Jan. 1, 1706-1707
- William, died unmarried in 1746
- Abigail Havens
- John, married Sarah
- Content, married Cornelius Payne
- Patience, married Soper (Loper?)
- Desire, married Gardiner
Also a daughter Hannah b ca 1675 married Samuel King
Also a daughter Ruth b 1684 married 1) Thomas Terry 2) Nathaniel Mather
