George of Hoode Grange had four sons, the eldest being Gilbert.. The youngest son, Anthony, was a particiapnt in the "Rising of the North". For this he was arrested, tried and condemned to death. His sentence was however reprieved later, and he got off with only the confiscation of his lands.
