George Kellogg Newbury

George Kellogg Newbury, born March 26, 1876, Newbury Park, CA, died 1974, Hendersonville, NC. Before George was born, his parents owned and operated a large sheep ranch as pioneers in Newbury Park, CA. When a long drought made this venture no longer viable, they decided to return to their family’s home in Michigan. Once they had their wagon packed, and started to drive it away, they turned back to get him when they realized they had left baby George asleep on his bed!

George graduated from MIT in 1898, and spent most of his career as a design engineer for steel companies.

George married Marian Louise Howe on September 11, 1911. Marian was born (January 31 or October 21?), 1899, died 1969.

They had four boys and one girl: Gilbert, Kenneth, Allan (spelled Allen?), Russell, and Olive.

George and Marion have twenty-three grandchildren, and many more great-grandchildren.
