Samuel Griffin died in Calvert Co., Md. This is proved by his Calvert Co. land which was certified for Griffin in 1653 and then patented in 1658 to George and Alice Reade because Griffin had died and Reade had m. the widow. 400 acre tract called "Readly." The Certificate of Survey source (to Samuel Griffin) is Maryland Land Office, Patent Records, Liber ABH, p. 342. The Patent source (to George and Alice Read) is Maryland Land Office, Patent Records, Liber Q, p. 106.
”I believe George Reade died about 1663 and his widow Joanne Sprigg married Robert Tyler. note 1664 note 5Oct1664 record for George and his widow, and the 1674 accounting of George and the 1673 Will writing of Robert Tyler. It appears Joane close both George's and Robert's account about the same time in 1674 when she married John Beale.”
