When John Scarborough died in 1880 the informant was Mary Ann Pyers (Nurse), Terang. Mary Ann is George's Second wife and the wife referred to in the Enclosed Refernce from the Terang Express.

Also Terang express jan 6 1895 says George Scarborough failed to pay maintenance for his children in the industrial school.

Inquest of George Henry Scarborough at Spring Vale near Linton. Linton - 4th march 1908 sudden death of George Henry Scarborough age 74, died this morning - at Linton Hotel. Deceased had not been feeling too well for about 12 months and was being attend to by Doctor Wells of linton in June last. George retired to his bed last night and appeared in usual health, he was found dead in his bed this morning. Believe to be a widower and has a son in Terang.

John Omeara Hotel keeper at spring vale near linton had employed George and known him on and off for many years. seen him alive at 6pm yesterday evening . asked him if he would like a glass of ????? which he did and he had just returned from his ordinary work. John Omeara had known george for over 30 years and george has informed me that he was 74. he often complained to me that his heart was weak and would kill him in time.

was a native of tasmaina i believe to be a member of Church of England.

James Keating or Heating ( hurt to rad) was also employed at Linton hotel and shared a room with George. and was last to see George alive. James retired to bed about 1pm last night and deceased was in bed and awake. james went to bed and about 2 hours later was awaken by George's candle and george asked if there was any water in the room. james arise and gave him so water, and asked if he wish or need any thing else, george said no. This moring at 7.30 james awoke and got up and called deceased but got no answer and then on examine found him dead.
