George Fayette Washington was born In Mt Vernon, Fairfax, VA on Jan. 17, 1790 and died Sep. 6, 1867 in Frederick, VA. He is buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester City, Virginia, USA.
He owned the Alexander Ross home, which he called Waverly near the Hopewell meeting house at Clearbrook. At his death his will proved January 1868, he left Waverly and his other property to Philip Williams in trust for the joint use and benefit of his son, Matthew Burwell Bassett Washington, and his wife Anna.
Family
- parents: The orphaned children of Charles Washington's oldest son, George Augustine Washington, and of Martha Washington's niece Frances Bassett Washington Lear, were named George Fayette, Charles Augustine, and Anna Maria. The children lived with their stepfather Tobias Lear at Walnut Tree Farm, a part of the Mount Vernon Clifton's Neck land which Washington left to the two little boys.

- Will of George Washington, July 7, 1799 ... I give and bequeath to George Fayette Washington and Lawrence Augustine Washington [17] and their heirs my estate east of little hunting creek lying on the River Potomac, including the farm of 360 acres, leased to Tobias Lear as noticed before and containing in the whole, by deeds, two thousand and twenty-seven acres be it more or less which said estate, it is my will and desire should be equitably and advantageously divided between them, according to quantity, quality and other circumstances when the youngest shall have arrived at the age of twenty-one years, by three judicious and disinterested men, one to be chosen by each of the brothers and the third by these two ....
