About George (Yegor Yegorovich) Nord
- The paternity of George Nord has sometimes been attributed to George IV, but there appears to be no proof of this. This source http://anthonyjcamp.com/page10.htm discusses the matter, also referring to the Countess's alleged affair with Sir Charles Whitworth and the possibility that he was the father of George Nord. It also mentions a "...lawsuit against the British crown, she declared that they had had a son, Egor Egorovitch Nord, but that the British court doubted it, ruling that the child was Lord Whitworth's son [NdR Borozdine (1957) No. 170 and NdR Jerebtzov (1958) No. 200, both quoting Istoritchesky Vestnik, xii (1912) 890 et seq.]. The boy is apparently called George Nord in Valentin Zubov, Zar Paul I: Mensch und Schicksal (K.F. Koehler, 1963) 221 [not seen] but no further details of the supposed court case about him have been found."
