Funeral services for Georgette Mae Armand Caubarreaux will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville with Father Rusty Rabalais officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum #2 in Marksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Georgette Mae Armand Caubarreaux, 94, of Mansura, Louisiana passed away on February 26, 2014 due to cardiac complications. Georgette was born August 17, 1919 in Marksville, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the late Pierre Armand and Laura Mayeaux Armand.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Roy Louis Caubarreaux and grandson Roy Anthony Souther. She is survived in death by her family: Leroy and Donna Caubarreaux of Marksville, Ashton and Julia Caubarreaux of Marksville, Andrew Caubarreaux of Dallas, Texas and daughter Linda Caubarreaux Souther and husband Fred Souther of Carencro, Louisiana. Georgette had 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Georgette was a compassionate and loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Every person she knew, she touched; and was an inspiration and friend to all. Georgette was a kind and generous woman. She was a retired nurse and nursing home administrator. She was a woman of many talents. She especially loved cooking and taking care of the poor and sick. In her later years she worked as a caring sitter. She always claimed to have enjoyed a beautiful childhood, and successful adult life. Georgette was our gift from God while here on earth and continues now in the beauty of heaven.
The family asks that visitation be observed on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until shortly before funeral service.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Gary Schupbach on Thursday.
