About Georgia Pettway
Georgia was the child of Nancy Mosley Pettway and legally Felix Pettway. Her alleged biological father was Scott Cabble. Georgia's only child, Joseph Pettway was born in Pass Christian, MS, on February 08, 1918. Georgia had moved from Rehoboth, Alabama with Scott Cabble. Georgia and her family lived on the Irby's Plantation in Rehoboth and they were sharecroppers. Georgia was a prolific speaker and was sexually assaulted by Cleveland Scott, who was married to Virginia Witherspoon Scott. Cleveland and Virginia did not have any children and Georgia and Cleveland's Son, Joseph Pettway was raised by his maternal grandmother, Nancy Pettway upon Georgia's death. Georgia was a victim to the 1918 Influenza(flu) pandemic while she was a patient at Searcy Hospital in Mr. Vernon, AL. She was buried in the Search Hospital Cemetary. Joseph, as an adult, built a house for Cleveland and his wife Virginia Scott and also built house for his maternal aunts, Martha Ann Pettway Gable and Savannah(Willie) Cabble; both lived in Alberta, AL, where Joseph lived until his death on April 16, 2011.
