Served 20 years USN, Pearl Harbor Survivor. Helped build observatory at Mt. Palomar, reground lenses so they would work, he designed part of the mechanisms, with San Diego State University.
Lapidarian at heart, loved rocks and gems, the feel of them, the warm and the cold, etc. Carved beautiful pieces and a pheasant was stolen from home at death i am still looking for. Won many prizes for his artistic talent, even played in famous western band, guitar til the war was coming and he joined Navy was Submariner til ears gave out. He also punched cattle and painted.
