Geraldine Marie Brumleve - Wegman

Geraldine M. Brumleve, 96 of Effingham formerly of Teutopolis, passed away Thursday morning, May 10, 2018 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the church with a 7:00 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, Meals on Wheels or Mass Intentions. Online condolences may be expressed at bauerfh.com. Geraldine was born November 9, 1921 in Effingham, the daughter of Albert and Clara (Schutte) Krone. She married Leonard L. Wegman on June 5, 1942 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1965 at the age of 44. Geraldine married Claude E. Brumleve on July 13, 1968 and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this coming July.

Geraldine was a homemaker, farmers wife and worked as a linotype operator of many years for the Teutopolis Press and Altamont News. She and her husband, Claude, enjoyed many years of traveling and camping. Geraldine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis, St. Francis Ladies Sodailty and enjoyed spending time with her friends playing in various card clubs.

Geraldine is survived by her son, Tom (Connie) Wegman of Effingham and daughter, Judy (Mike) Pals of Teutopolis; seven grandchildren, Craig Pals of Effingham (fiance, Shermini Saini of St. Louis), Eric (Cheryl) Pals of Teutopolis, Matt (Nancy) Pals of Teutopolis, Tracy (Todd) Darland of Indianapolis, Todd (Carrie) Wegman of Effingham, Ted (Caroline) Wegman of St. Louis and Tricia Wegman of Denver, CO. 20 great-grandchildren, Nick, Noah, Jacob, Jackson, Molly, Elise and Hallie Pals, all of Teutopolis, Mary Claire, Ava, Ellie and Charlie Wegman of Effingham, Leah, Charlotte and Tessa Wegman of St. Louis, Audrey, Thomas, Elizabeth, August, Henry and Leo Darland of Indianapolis.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Albert Jr.; husband Leonard and sister, Dorothy (William) Stuckey.

The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen, the staff at Villas of Holly Brook, Dr. Charles Runde and Dr. Eric Bloemer for the care and support they provided. Geraldine enjoyed the many visitors over the years and the time they spent with her.
