About Gerret Stoffelszen van Laer
His son, Adrian van Laer was born in 1634 in Bedford, Westchester, New Netherlands
• Gerrit Stoffelss [Van Laer], shoemaker, and Barbara Ariaens [Baijken Aerjans] were married
20 April 1630 at the Oude Kerk [Old Church] in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Baijken Aerjans, daughter of Aerjans Cornelis a rope maker and Jannetje Markes,
was born in Amsterdam. Gerrit Stoffelsz used his patronymic at his
children's baptisms and in most records but when he wrote his will he added Van
Laer. Gerrit Stoffelsz and Baijken Aerjans had eleven children baptized
in the Oude and Nieuw Reformed Churches in Amsterdam. Two of their
children emigrated to New Amsterdam. Adriaen Gerritsz, baptized as Aerjaen on
17 January 1634 and Stoffel Gerritsz baptized 22 March 1639.
Proof of his marriage and the baptism of his eleven children is found
in the Oude and Nieuw Church records. His emigration record is in [HSYB
1902:7].
My problem. "Gerrit Stoffelsz used his patronymic at his children's
baptisms and in most records but when he wrote his will he added Van Laer."
I don't remember where I got the reference to "when he wrote his will
he added Van Laer." Need copy of will or proof there was a will.
Best regards,
