Gerrit Buyskes, SV/PROG

People's representative at the Supreme Court of the Cape and Batavia. Lived in Cape Town from 1802 to 1806. Came from Enhhuizen and is a descendent of Pieter Luytz Buijskes, who died in 1606, representative of the Prince of Orange at the conquest of the city of Enckhuizen in 1572. Later became mayor (Stadhouer) of the city. Gerrit's son Egbert Andries Buijskes, born 1789 in Bergen, St Wynox in Flanders and died in 1865 in Wynberg, Cape Povince. He owned Onderschuur (West brooke) in Rondebosch, Cape Province.
