"... Dec. 4, 1760, he was married to Mrs. Gertrude Schuyler of Dominie Westerts, of the Reformed Dutch Church at Albany, NY. That lady was the only sister of Maj. Philip Schuyler, and the widow of Peter Schuyler, whose grandfather, Peter, had been president of the Council of the province of New York in 1719. By her first husband she had two children: one, Peter, who married, but died childless; the other, Cornelia, who married Walter Livingston, grandson of Robert Livingston, first lord of the manor of Livingston.
