GERTRUDE HARRIET LASKER's naturalization documents from 1929-1932 in the Southern District of NY (Manhattan) showed that she emigrated to the USA from Antwerp, Belgium on the SS Lapland, which arrived in New York on July 12, 1909. Her name at immigration was GOLDE LASKER. Her birthplace and last foreign residence were both given as "Stavask, Poland (Russia)", which probably equals Stawiski, Poland, then part of the Russian Empire, known as Stavisk in Yiddish.
She gave her date of birth as July 27, 1903, which is three years earlier than all her later records, which say July 27, 1906. She was admitted as a citizen on November 14, 1932 and swore an Oath that day.
Her address in Jan 1929 was 31 W. 92nd St., New York City. Her address in 1932 was 2526 Maclay Ave, Bronx, NY and her occupation then was law stenographer.
Not sure when she married Saul Cantor Gordon, but sometime between 1936-1940.
