Gilbert Elam

Gilbert was born after 1679 because he was not yet age 17 at the time of his father's will in 1697.

1736: Lists 2 tax levys, 400 acres; "pd by cash to J. Gobson and by the Inspector at Warwick"; February 1736: tax levy, Henrico County - Southside; "Messrs Redford and Wilkinson, Inspectors at Warwick, Debit, To Gilbert Elam, 101 lb. Tobacco"; "Richd Levins. Dr. 1736/37. March 21. To cash paid Gilbert Elam junr for your note. Paid by yr Ex'o vs Edwd Osborne in last Court."

Will mentions wife Mary, daughters Mary, Elizabeth, Ann, Lucy and Judith, sons Gilbert, James, and Robert. Wife named executrix. Robert Elam became administrator of her estate on 3 Sep. 1756 after her death.
