Gilma E. Knutson Dunn County News, Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, 6A
Gilma Eline Knutson, 88, of Ash Flat, Ark., passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at the Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village, Ark. Mrs. Knutson was born on Dec. 18, 1910, in Wheeler, the daughter of Edias Gotliebson and Guri Oielsen. She was united in marriage to Malcolm Knutson on March 9, 1951. Mr. and Mrs. Knutson moved to Sharp County in Arkansas on Sept. 16, 1979. Mrs. Knutson worked as a clerk for the Farmer Store Company in Wisconsin.
She was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Hill & Dale Garden Club and also of AARP. Mrs. Knutson helped start a senior citizens club and the meals on wheels program. She made crafts for her church and held office in Ladies Aid. Mrs. Knutson was a Sunday School teacher at one time. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Knutson is survived by her daughter, Goldie Blodgett of Pewaukee; one sister-in-law, Gladys Gotliebson of Colfax; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Tri-County’s Cherokee Chapel in Highland.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at the Holden Lutheran Church in Colfax with burial in the Holden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. All arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County’s Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
