Was Royal Notary of the Province of Chieti.
Was supposedly Royal Notary of the Province of Chieti. On his marriage certificate he is listed as “Don” Giuseppe D’Alonzo, which was only used for clergy and nobles, so this would make sense. It also lists him as in the “legal” profession. Unknown if his role was under the new Kingdom of Italy or the then defunct Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. May explain why so many of his kids came to America 1st class!
Has a gravestone that is in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. This may be a cenotaph though. No records of him coming to America. Scanned death records in Chieti currently only go through 1899.
