Ordella Tenold, daughter of Gaylord, was born on the old Tenold Estate Farm, near Hanlontown, Iowa, in Danville Township of Worth County. She started her early school years at Hanlontown, and moved with her parents to their new home in Winnebago County. There she reentered her school work at Scarville, Iowa, and finished high school there in June of 1940. She completed the teacher's course at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, in 1942 and joined the Waves in May of 1943, as S.1C-V10-704-84-37. She was in boot training at the Bronx, New York, for one month, and Stillwater, Oklahoma for three months, and wound up with Y2C at Great Lakes, Illinois, in May of 1944. She was married on May 21, 1944 to Morris Thomas Sandeno of Kenyon, Minnesota.
Ordella's children are Sandra Ordella Sandeno born 1944 and Thomas Stacy Sandeno born 1945.
