About Gloria "Butch" Crandall
Obituary of Gloria Watts Crandall from the Deseret News, Published Thursday, November 2, 1995: A very special lady has passed from our lives. Our beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, Gloria Watts "Butch" Crandall, 67, died very suddenly, but peacefully, of a massive heart attack at her home in Salt Lake City, October 31, 1995. Born March 30, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George Dewey and Laura Wagstaff Watts. Graduated from South High School in 1945. Married Sidney G. Crandall, May 14, 1948. They were sealed June 14, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She was the ultimate example of selfless, untiring, compassionate service to family and friends, right up to the very day she died. She enjoyed being a homemaker, helping people, doing crafts, going to craft boutiques, and best of all, preparing delicious meals and goodies. Just like her mother, her every waking thought was of others. She will be sorely missed, but lovingly remembered by her family and many dear friends of all ages, until they meet again.
Stalwart member of the Grant Second LDS Ward, she devotedly and creatively served in numerous callings in all auxiliaries, and supported her husband in his. Survived by her husband of 47 years; two brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Lynn G. (Lois) Watts, Salt Lake City; Wesley Kent (Dawn) Watts, West Jordan; Dorothy (Ray) Crosson, Peoria, Arizona; Carol Watts, Salt Lake City; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 4th at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn.
