About Gloy Margie Woosley
Gloy M. Woosley HERINGTON — Gloy M. Woosley, 79, Herington, died Monday, Dec. 15,1997, at her home. Mrs. Woosley was born Gloy M. Shipley on Aug. 18,1918, at Herington and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a homemaker, a member of the Herington United Methodist Church and a charter member and board member of Tri- County Historical Society. She was a member of the Brotherhood of Trainmen, UTU Auxiliaries, Herington Country Club and a former Brownie Leader. She was treasurer of Dix-Day Post 1281 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a member of Town and Country and B & N Card Clubs, all of Herington. Her husband, Bernard L., died on Nov. 15, 1996. Survivors include three daughters, Janice Ulferts of Spicer, Minn., Joyce Kern of Herington and Jennifer Gerhardt of Topeka; two brothers, Oliver Shipley of Aurora, Colo., and Claude "Toad" Shipley of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Lois Harrison of Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Donahue Funeral Home Chapel, Herington, the Rev. David Bolz officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington. Memorials may be made to Dickinson County Hospice, Tri- County Historical Society, or Railroad Annex Fund in care of the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, 404 S. Broadway, Herington 67449, where family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
