About Godfrey St. Aubyn Chang

Godfrey was an inventor, one who loved to paint in his younger days. A person who loved the company of others when in the mood for socializing, but loved his personal space for thought and solitude as well. He was a true thinker, a critical thinker at best, who marched to his own drum. Dad was extremely particular who did not like people messing with his belongings unless given permission to do so. If he placed an object in a particular position he expected to return to find it there. He loved spending time with his children and spouse. It was a ritual every Sunday to take us all to the beach, the pond....it was there really where we all received our first swimming lessons at very young ages. Dad wasn't one in his early adult years that looked or caused conflicts, he would rather not focus on things that appeared to be mere nonsense. Dad loved to sing and to his last days graced us with all kind of random verses....even rap. You couldn't sum daddy up he was a truly multi-dimensional being, with an extremely gifted brain. He loved the sciences, agriculture and his spirituality (he studied religion well). Most folks don't truly understand why he said "love the life you live and live the life you love" he knew that in life we made choices, arrived at decisions, and that you had to be at peace with those choices and decisions regardless if anyone else in the world was. He also understood personal accountablility to our maker. Dad was troubled by many things, challenged as we all are, and in his case in ways that many truly understood unless you knew his personal history. He was a family person, kind and yes wondering....with a purpose and a destination in mind even if you didn't know it. Godfrey had values, taught his children them. When you see us...you see a generation of love.
