About Gordon Rowe Langenhovel
Gordon was born on January 23, 1923 in Los Banos and attended Dos Palos High School, where he met Marjorie, his soon-to-be-wife and the love of his life. They were married in 1943 while on leave from the Navy.
Gordon sailed aboard the cruiser, USS Reno, on which he would serve in battles in Saipan, Iwo Jima and Guam. On October 4, 1944, he and the Reno crew assisted in the rescue of the carrier, USS Princeton. On November 3, 1944, he survived a torpedo attack on the Reno. Gordon would later serve in the Korean War.
After retiring from the Navy, Gordon worked in the titling industry for many years before starting his own business, Mid County Title Company. He would remain active in real estate investments up until his last days.
Gordon loved playing cards with anyone willing to ante up, telling jokes, drinking coffee with his pals, and riding his scooter, but most of all, he loved his wife with all of his heart.
