About Graaf Otto von Nassau-Siegen
Count of Nassau He died between May 3, 1289 and March 19, 1290. After the death of his father Henry II 'the rich' in 1251 he reigned first jointly with his brother Walram II but in 1255 they divided the lands, taking Otto the territory north of the river Lahn, with Siegen (as a residence), Dillenburg, Beilstein, Herborn and Mengerskirchen.
Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands (1880-1962) was the last of his (legitimate) lineal descendants. In England are at the present day (2009) living three illegitimate lineal descendants of Count Otto. They bear the name 'Nassau'. All three are women. Their great-great-grandfather's father, Fredrick Nassau (1771-1845, was an illegitimate son of William Henry Nassau de Zuylestein (1717-1781), 4th Earl of Rochford [Memorial 43942330]. He was a descendant of an illegitimate son of Prince Frederick Henry of Orange [36428004].
