About Dr. Gregorio Bermann
Gregorio was a real mover and shaker. He mingled with the likes of Neruda and Lorca, Unamuno, Eleanor Roosevelt, interviewed Freud, just to name a few. He and Isa Kremer were together when my Mom met his son and married him. He wrote some twenty books, translated into several different languages, helped institute University Reform in Argentina, which affected even student demonstrations in France 50 years later. He founded and presided over the Latin American Psychiatric Association, Founded the Bermann Clinic, even ran for Governor of his Province, Cordoba. I remember walks with him in his Institution where he was treated with the utmost respect, almost veneration by his staff, and meals with him at his daughter's house (Sylvia Bermann) where luminaries like Maria Rosa Oliver were at the table. I would say I was immensely blessed to have been born into the household of two great grandfathers, him and Abraham. It was like being part of Royalty, his Clinic in Cordoba (The past Governor's Mansion) came complete with towers and a secret passage to one of them that my sister and I often enjoyed. He stood for Justice and helped bring-on Human Evolution. During his tenure as head of the Clinic, a complex of several buildings with a park (Now a designated National Monument) everything ran like clockwork and shined with Quality, His.
