September 1, 1930 ~ September 16, 2014

Greta Marie (Cyr) Bradley passed away on September 16, 2014, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, WA. She was born on September 1, 1930, in Van Buren, ME to Everett and Almeda Cyr. She graduated from the Catholic school in Van Buren in 1948. Upon graduation, she was employed at the local telephone office and operated the manual switchboard. She met John Dale “Jack” Bradley while he was a serviceman at the Caswell Air Force Base in Limestone, ME. They were married on May 22, 1954, at St. Bruno’s Church in Van Buren. They moved west to Jack’s hometown of Concrete, WA. She was the mother to two children, (John) Scott Bradley and Rose Bradley (Auvil). Greta enjoyed her years as a homemaker. She supported her husband in his teaching and coaching career. She often traveled with the teams to take stats or keep scores. Led by her compassion for others, Greta often took time to visit people in the hospitals, nursing homes or individual homes and brought a ray of sunshine to their lives. Jack and she were purposeful in keeping family ties and the family often traveled to Nebraska, South Dakota and Maine during the summers to visit relatives. Greta and Jack enjoyed traveling and dancing. They resided in Concrete, Bellingham, and Sultan, WA. Greta moved to Orondo, WA and then her final residence was at Hearthstone Assisted Living in East Wenatchee, WA. Greta was small in stature but large in compassion, kindness and helpfulness. She had a smile bright enough to light up a room.

Greta is survived by her sister, Cora (Cyr) Sirois of Van Buren, ME; two children, (John) Scott Bradley of East Wenatchee, WA and Rose (Bradley) Auvil of Orondo, WA; her son-in-law, Tom Auvil; and two granddaughters, Megan Auvil of Seattle, WA and Jaclyn Auvil of Orondo, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Almeda Cyr; and her brother, Rudy Cyr.

Funeral Service was held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Jones & Jones~Betts Memorial Chapel. Interment and a Catholic Mass will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery in Sedro Woolley, WA.
