About Guillame de Vieuxpont
From what primary or secondary source(s) does the following information come?
Guillaume de Vieuxpont in Auge or Eu district, today's Calvados, Normandie, was the earliest-known progenitor of this ancient Anglo-Norman family. Born in the early 11th Century, ca. 1015, his son, Robert de VieuxPont, was born around 1050. He was a companion to Guillaume le Conquerant (William the Conqueror), Duke of Normandy, who became King William I of England after defeating the Saxon King Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
Nothing further is known of Guillaume (William) de Vieuxpont and he is believed to have died in Calvados, Normandie before William's departure for England in 1066 CE.
