About Guinevere Hancey
Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - October 18, 1990 Guinevere Hancey, age 88, died late Tuesday, October 16, 1990 at Dixie Medical Center.
She was born March 1, 1902 at Willow Creek, ID to Arthur C. and Minnie Bybee Hancey.
Reared and educated in Yukon, ID, Guinevere has also lived in Osgood, ID, Milo, ID, Idaho Falls, ID, Salt Lake City, UT and St. George, UT. An active member of the LDS Church, she has served as Sunday School Secretary for 16 years for the University 12th Ward. She was an exceptional seamstress and loved to make clothes for her nieces and granddaughter. Her most important talent was crocheting, producing beautiful tablecloths. One of her proudest accomplishments was the crocheting of alter cloths for the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples. She was employed as a domestic at Remington Arms in Salt Lake for 40 years.
Surviving family members include one son, G. Gene Hancey of St. George, UT; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, two sisters, Denzil Lavor Hancey, Bountiful, UT; Donna Hillman, Idaho Falls, ID; Wanda Christensen, Magna, UT.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 20, 1990 at 2 p.m. in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary. - Shirley Bybee
