Funeral services were held last Sunday, September 13th, at 2:00 o'clock at the home and at 2:30 at Gol Church over the remains of Mrs. Guri Graff, who passed away on Thursday, September 10th. Mrs. Graff was 83 years old the day before she died.
The service was conducted by Rev. C. F. Turmo and burial was in the Gol Cemetery. During the services Mrs. Oscar Erickson sang a solo, "Naermere Gud til Dig". Numerous Memory Wreaths and floral offerings testified of the high esteem in which Mrs. Graff was held in the vicinity.
Pallbearers were six grandsons, Oliver Johnson, Gordon Graff, Eugene Perhus, Oswald Graff, Ingvald Otterson and Arnold Graff.
Mrs. Guri Graff was born in Lykken, Hemsedal, Norway, September 9th, 1859. She was married to Andrew Graff the year of 1878 and came to America in 1880. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Graff of which eight survive. The children are Ingri, Mrs. Ottin Otterson, Ragnild, Mrs. S. O. Johnson, Ingvald, Ole, Swen, Albert, Ellen, Mrs. Theo. Perhus and Tilda. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. There are three sisters and two brothers living, Mrs. Barbo Graff of Mekinock, N.D., Iver Lykken of Kindred, Ingeborg, Gunhild and Ole Lykken in Norway.
She was an ardent church worker and never gave up those duties she thought were hers where the church and its affiliated organizations were concerned.
She will be missed, not only by the children and other relatives but by the large circle of friends who esteemed her highly.
Mrs. Graff was a Charter Member of the Gol Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society.
Relatives and friends from a distance who were here for the services were her sister, Mrs. Barbo Graff of Meckinock, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Sam Graff and family of Gilby, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Ole Graff and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Haugen and Mr. And Mrs. Oscar Haugen all of Wyndmere and Mr. and Mrs. Hogberg of Fargo, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Graff and son Allen of Erie, N.D., Mrs. Archie Olson of McLeod and Mrs. Johnson of Leonard.
