About Gus Carlson
Anders Gustaf travelled to the US under the name Anders Gustaf Karlson in 1923. He travelled from Gothenburg on July 21 (his birthday) on the ship "Drottningholm". His brother Erik Tage (my grandfather) travelled with the same ship five years later. Anders Gustaf arrived in New York August 1 1923. The ship manifest states that his final destination was Wilton, North Dakota. In my grandfather Eric's obituary, published in the newspaper "Vestkusten" Feb 26 1976, the family friend Rudy writes that my grandfather Eric stayed with his brother in Chicago for a short while when he first came to the US, before he went to Kosmos, Washington. This was in 1928. Anders Gustaf is not mentioned by name in my grandfathers obituary or in the program printed for the funeral. This must mean that he died before 1976. In a handwritten familytree made in 1994 it says that Anders Gustaf used the name Gustav and died April 26 1932.
Anders Gustaf ankom New York 1. august 1923.
