Mr Gustaf Hjalmar Edvardson, 18, was born 17 December 1893 the son of Edvard Johannesson and stepson of Emma Kristina (née Andersdotter). He had two sisters, Ellen and Kristina. The family lived at Tofta, Ljungby, Småland, Sweden.

Gustaf Edvardson was unmarried, had no children and lived with his parents. Travelling with Ernst Aronsson he left Ljungby on 30 March 1912. Both men were destined for the home Aronson's brother Claes Bengtsson at 200 Ridgewood Ave. Joliet, Illinois. According to a newspaper Bengtsson was Edvardsson's and Aronson's cousin. Gustaf was on some list been called Johansson but that must be a mix-up with his fathers name.

They boarded the Titanic at Southampton as third class passengers. Both men lost their lives, their bodies were never found.

The Mansion House Fund paid 875:52 Kr (£48) to parents and 911 Kr (£50) to the sisters. 1663.20 Kr damage claims were paid on 5 October 1914 to the widow as Edvard had died, and to Johan W Persson as guardian of the underage sisters.
