About Hannah LeRoy
Hannah Cornell was the daughter of Samuel Cornell (1730-1781) and his wife, Susannah (Mabson) Cornell, and a sister of Elizabeth Cornell, the wife of William Bayard, Jr. (1761-1826). Her father was the last Royal Attorney General of North Carolina and a direct descendant of Thomas Cornell, one of the earliest settlers of Boston (1638), and Rhode Island (1643). Hannah Cornell was married 19 Oct 1786 in New York to Herman LeRoy, with whom she had issue. LeRoy served as the first Dutch Consul to the United States.
