About Hannah Richmond

Hannah Richmond, daughter of Perez and Deborah (Loring) Richmond was born in Dartmouth, in 1732. JBR Richmond history pg 86 gives the following: Three daughters of Perez and Deborah (LoringI) Richmond, viz.: Hannah, Dborah and Elizabeth, married three brothers of the Jacobs family of Scituate, Massachusetts. They were large farmers and mill-owners,and lived within sight of each other. They were very industrious, successful and highly respectable. This Jacobs famliy descended from English gentry. Nicholas Jacobs came from Hingham, England, to Hingham, Massachusetts in 1633. They have a very attractive cot of arms. David, grandson of Nicholas, went in 1688 from Hiingham to Scituate. He was vey well educated, and a leading man there. His sons Joshua and Dr. Joseph settled in Scituate, and their lands ae owend by their d0escendants. David Jacobs, who married Hannah Richmond, was k0now as "Landlord Jacobs" and his brothers as "Masters." they had slaves and dependents, and theirold homestead was standing in 1860.
