Biography

Hannah Stebbins was the daughter of Benjamin Stebbins (1692-1780) and Sarah Mead (1695-1774). born on 22 Mar 1728 in Ridgefield, Fairfield Co., CT. [1]

Hannah Stebbins married John Sherwood (1728-1779) on 19 May 1751 in Ridgefield, Fairfield Co., Connecticut.[1]

The History of Ridgefield Connecticut shows that John Sherwood and Hannah Stebbins had one son named Benjamin Sherwood born on 10 Apr 1753. He may have been the only son of this couple.

The Stebbins Genealogy by Ralph and Robert Greenlee. Hannah b. 28 Mar 1728 married John Sherwood who was born 15 March 1729 at Ridgefield, Conn. who was son of Daniel Sherwood and Ruth

Child Benjamin Sherwood b. 10 April 1753; m. Sarah Olmstead.[2] Benjamin is the only child of Hannah and John Sherwood recorded in the Ridgefield records.[1] The descendants of Jacob Sebor, 1709-1793, of Middletown, Connecticut by Helen Beach also calls him son of Daniel.
