Old family name of Hoe, probably indicating their work from Ewerby in Lincolnshire. Hannah married William Singleton in Manchester Cathedral. Later three of their children died in Cripplegate London. When William was sentenced to seven years for cloth stealing, she and Joseph and Ben accompanied him on the transport the Pitt in 1792 to the penal colony.William received a pardon ad their land grant on the Hawkesbury was initially 30 acres where they grew hops pumpkin corn . Floods saw them almost ruined , their sons James and Ben started flour mills and Ben's explorations took some of the family to prosper in the Hunter, town of Singleton.She is buried AT Wilberforce near the Rose family plot.
