Hardin Jordan Hancock

---Hardin Hancock died at his residence in this city this morning of asthma, age 81yrs. Deceased was born in Jefferson Co., KY., in 1805. he came to Clark Co., IN. in his early youth and married Sarah Boyer. Five years later he moved to Grassy Fork twp. His wife died in 1840. On December 16, 1842 he married Emerine Davis who died February 18, 1882. He was the father of 15 children, 4 by his 1 wife, and 11 by his 2nd wife. 7 survive him. WM, Nancy J., John, Hardin, Marion F., Susan & Maggie: Survive him. Two of his sons were killed in the Army during the late war (CIVIL WAR). His funeral will be at the M.E. church Sunday.
