About Harold Turkel
My dear Uncle gave me my first job at International Minerals and Metals 11 Broadway in New York City. He and Manny Spitzer shared an office and he used to smoke several hard boxes of Marlboros each day. When he quit, Uncle Harry became a major anti smoking advocate.
Becky and I visited Normandy France (D Day) beaches in July 2008. I told Uncle Harry, who landed there on D Day + 12 with Patton's 4th armored division, that if I saw any 88 year old French women I would ask if they still remembered this red headed soldier who spoke French.
We love him dearly!!
