Harriet McCullister was born in Workington, England on October 21, 1852 to James and Mary Irving Weston.

She was married in Cumberland County, England on September 9, 1873 to William McCullister. Their ceremony at the register office was witnessed by Joseph Frazer and Francis Weston.

Harriet and William McCullister were the parents of eight children. Among them were Thomas, Elizabeth, and Margaret, who were born in England. After the family arrived in Illinois, Katie and William were born.

Harriet passed away in Thayer, Illinois on May 23, 1919 due to a cerebral hemorrhage. She was buried in Auburn Cemetery on May 26, 1919.
