This memorial is based on her obituary (The Fairmont West Virginian, 27 Dec 1913).
Mrs Harriet Ferguson, aged almost 95 yrs, died this morning at 1 o'clock at the home of her son, Gideon Vandergrift, at Hammond after an illness with diseases incident to old age. The deceased was previous to her marriage, a Miss Vandergrift and was aged 94y, 7m, 27d.
She was a member of the Dunkard Church and the funeral will be conducted from that church Sunday afternoon at 2 and interment will be made in the Dunkard Cemetery on Goose Creek.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs Wm Powell of Hammond; Gideon Vandergrift, of Hammond; Mrs James Jenkins, of Kilarm; John Vandergrift, of Homestead, PA; Grant, of Goose Creek, and H. F. of Fairmont. A sister Mrs Lydia Hawkins, of Fairmont, and a brother, Calvin, of Thornton, WV also survive.
