ALTOONA MIRROR (Altoona, Blair County, PA) “Death Record,” page 30, col. 1; Altoona Area Public Library, Altoona, PA. 4 October 1960 Of 1120 11th St., died at 5 a.m. yesterday in the Altoona Hospital after a brief illness. He was born at Millerstown March 29, 1890, a son of Isaiah and Sarah (Heckert) Keister. Mr. Keister was a retired track worker for the Pennsylvania Railroad. His wife, the former Elizabeth Amrhein, preceded him in death. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Minnie Heiss and Mrs. Elsie Stehley of Altoona, Mrs. Elizabeth Schratzmeier of Elmhurst, Ill., and Mrs. Gertie Risbon of Wilmore; one brother, William of Harrisburg; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Billow of Harrisburg; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
