About Havoise de Marque (Marck ou Marcke)

Very little information to confirm this person yet…she seems to be the daughter of Elembert III de MARCK
Seigneur et Vicomte de Marck Seigneur de Oye-plage

There are two 13th century geographical locations that could effect necessary research. First there is the county of Marck in the far west near Calais. The second is what appears to be a toponym immediately south and west of Koranic. I doubt this name is attributable to the important 16th century family of La Marck.

Marck is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. In the environs of Calais, it is not at all improbable that a marriage could have been arranged uniting Marck and Lallaing. There is a former commune of Marcq, Wallonia, a village and former municipality in Enghien, Belgium as well as Marcq-en-Ostrevent, Nord.
__________

English:
II.Nicolas I, lord of Lalaing, knight, appears in a charter of the abbey of St-Aubert de Cambray of the year 1284. His wife, Havoise DE MARQUE, made him father of Othon I, who follows.
“il avait épousé Havoise de Marque”

III.Othon I, lord of Lalaing, whose name is found in various charters, married Isabeau DE SAARBRÜCK. From this marriage came:

(Curator Note: we know this to be incorrect. Othon I was son of Nicholas III de Lalaing (not Nicholas I) and Isabeau de Montigny, AND we know that Othon’s purported marriage to Isabeau von Saarbrucken has been proven false! Under these circumstances it is therefore reasonable to presume that Havoise de Marck may also be incorrect, even though the second author Herckenrode has here-to-fore been seen as credible.)
