About Heinrich Geyser, SV/PROG
BIOGRAPHY: Heinrich Geyser (ook genoem Keijser, Jeijser, Jeser, Tijser) was afkomstig van Lengerich of Limperich in Duitsland en het as matroos in diens H.O.I.K. voor die jaar 1750 in die Kaap geland. Hy was vanaf 1753 tot 1754 'n junior seilmaker. In 1754 of 1755 is hy waarskynlik gerapatrieer, maar hy het in 1756 saam met sy broer Frederick teruggekeer en sy ambag as seilmaker voortgesit. Frederick is nooit getroud nie, Maar Hendrik het sy seun na hom vernoem, vandaar die naam Frederick saam met die naam van die Stamvader, Hendrik, die familienaam word. In 1762 het hy burger geword, maar twee jaar later as senior seilmaker weer in diens van die Kompanjie getree. Hy het vir die tweede burger geword in 1768.

Sa. 1750-52, junior sailmaker 1753-54, probably repatriated 1754 or 1755, returned to the Cape as junior sailmaker 1756, b. 1762, re-entered Comp.'s service 1764 as senior sailmaker, b. again 1768. -~ 5.8.1759 Judith de Wit (illeg. d. of Fredrik de Wit and Dina v. Deventer, bapt. 2.12.1742). 9 children. (GMR 1750-54, 1758-61, 1765-68; Rqq. 1762: 167; 1768-70: 20; G.R. nr. 376.) H.G. had an illeg. daughter, Helena, by Angenita of the C., bapt. 21.3.1756.

<p>BIOGRAPHY : Heinrich Geyser (also Keijser, Jeijser, Jezer, Tijser) was from Lengerich or Limperich in Germany and landed at the Cape as a sailor in the service of the Dutch East India Company in 1750. He was a junior sail maker from 1753 to 1754. In 1754 or 1755 he most likely repatriated to Germany but he returned in 1756 with his brother Frederick to continue his work as a sail maker. Frederick was never married, but Heinrich named one of his sons after him. He became a citizen in 1762, but two years later as a senior sail maker again entered the service of the company.
