Heinrich von Bobenhausen comes from the Frankish noble family of the von Bobenhausen family . He was first Commander of Bad Mergentheim from 1547 to 1549, then Commander of Frankfurt am Main and until 1565 Commander of Regensburg . After Maximilian took the oath in October 1585, Bobenhausen handed over the residence and the chamber houses in Mergentheim to Maximilian. In 1586, Maximilian granted permission to use the Prussian Grand Master's Cross, subject to superiority, the regalia and the title of Grand and German Master.
