About Heinz "Henry" Rubel

Heinz was born Henry Michael Rubel after his father in Cincinnati, but later was changed to Henry Scott Rubel.

His great-grandfather was General Winfield Scott who fathered 13 children.

There's so much more but General Winfield Scott wrote the basics for what eventually became the Geneva Conventions. He made rules as to how to treat prisoners. He discovered that more soldiers died from unclean conditions than by gunshot which is why the USArmy trains in washable gray. He ran against Lincoln for President. Glad he lost that one. But he gained fame for his humanitarianism.
